Last year, when Kevin Costner's son was just a month old, much was made of the fact that he had already started baby proofing his home. So how soon is too soon to start babyproofing? I tell parents and caregivers to start babyproofing before their child starts crawling. Once a child is crawling, it's amazing how quickly they progress and before long, you'll find your child in the cupboards, bathrooms, and other places where dangers can be found.

Let the Blogging Begin
So here it is: Our first post at the Safe Start blog. Now what? Our plan is to write about babyproofing tips, noteworthy child product recalls, and interesting (some funny, some scary) things we've learned as we've childproofed thousands of homes in the Washington DC area.
