MommyCast Says YES to Babyproofing and Safe Start!

As a Babyproofer I’ve heard it all…

”My parents never babyproofed and we survived.”

“I don’t need to babyproof, I’ll just teach my kids that no means no!”

I’m happy to say that the word is out...today’s parents realize the importance of babyproofing and so does MommyCast! Check out the YouTube link featuring Safe Start Baby. Don’t forget to post or blog your thoughts!

"My parents never babyproofed and we survived." Yes that might be true for some but how many others were injured around the house or worse yet, did not survive. I am glad the word is out on the importance of baby proofing your home! When I was little, we didn't have seat belts and the statistics showed the need for them which is the same as those showing the need to protect our children and grandchildren around the house.

Thank you for your comments! You are absolutely correct and thankfully things are changing.

Today's parents are recognizing the importance of home safety and it shows. In the last 20 years, unintentional injuries and deaths have decreased by 43%.

Even so, there are still 58,000 injuries and 55 deaths EVERY DAY in the US alone and it is estimated that 90% of home injuries and deaths could be prevented.

Our goal as parents should be to create a safe haven for our children and the most effective way is with childproofing and constant supervision.

Thank you again for your wonderful feedback and comments.

Let's hope that when today's children are grown, the statistics will be even more promising, because 55 unintentional deaths per day is 55 too many.

Wishing a Safe Summer Season,

Michele Spahr

I saw the mommycast video and was interested to see all of cool stuff that you can buy to help babyproof. I wish we had more of it when my kids were little, especially the table guards. My daughter fell at a neighbors and cut open her forhead, ER, stitches, ugggg!
