"I used them 8 years ago and was thrilled with their service. I used them for overall assessment/consult and materials installation. I bought stair gates, a fireplace protector, toilet locks, drawer locks, electrical plug covers... The owner was a consummate pro and extremely personable - it was worth every penny.
I am not very handy in these situations - and at the time, didn't own a drill. I still have a gate they installed at the top of the stairs more for puppy and sleepwalking control than baby herding... And you reminded me it's high time I removed those annoying locks from the kitchen drawers!”

“We also used Safe Start baby several months ago. I definitely think it was worth the money. They pointed out things we might not otherwise have thought of and they presented a number of options for different issues. In particular, I was really happy with the solution they came up with to a set of asymmetric walls at the top of a staircase. We didn't think we'd be able to install a gate there, but Safe Start created a neat modification that allowed us to do so after all.
Of course the other issue was that we didn't want to spend a weekend putting everything up. Our very experienced and handy installer did everything in about 3 1/2 hours. I'm guessing it would have taken a less experienced hand more like 6-8 hrs.
I would definitely recommend for non-handy people!”

“I totally agree. They were great. I just recommended them to someone else, too. Even if you decide to install yourself, at a minimum, the assessment is so worth it. They pointed out things we would not have thought of. Also, I liked that they gave different options for certain issues and that when we decided not to do certain things (we waited to see what our child was tempted by), there was no guilt or trying to convince us otherwise...”

“Based on the emails I'm seeing I just went and requested a consultation. My husband and I have tried to make our home safe, but we either the equipment we get isn't quite right or we don't even know how to fix the problem. Our daughter (2.5) got into nothing. Our 1 year old... totally different story. I spend most of my time with him saying "no" or steering him away from danger. It's never a dull moment! Looking forward to some peace of mind.”
